He aha te mea nui? Māku e kii atu, he tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata. What is the most important thing in the world? Well, let me tell you, it is people, it is people, it is people.
I have just spent the most incredible month travelling, investing in myself and my practice, and above all connecting with the most extraordinary people.
Healing comes in many forms, but nothing quite compares with being seen and bearing witness to another soul as they travel their own journey.
From meeting clients for the first time in person in Christchurch, to planning the next three years of my practice in Manly Beach, to a deeply healing personal experience at the Mana Retreat in Coromandel, I will not soon forget August 2024!
Three years ago, I was just trying to survive the very recent loss of my wife Fiona to cancer. I had to learn how to breathe again. My energy was just enough to travel one day at a time, and it took all my effort to care for my boys. Work on / in my practice was near on impossible and I rarely travelled more than 20 minutes from home.
The extraordinary thing about August 2024 is how much contrast there is with August 2021:
- Courage to travel to new places and navigating foreign environments solo
- Inspiration to dream about what life and practice might be like in 10 years’ time – hope for a brighter future
- Connecting with people I have only had a Zoom relationship with, and giving them a hug for the first time
- Deeply connecting with brand new people that I wouldn’t have otherwise met had I not made the investment to travel and share beautiful unique experiences
All of this has helped me heal and I know I still have significant roads to travel, but the progress I have made in the last three years gives me deep hope for what might be possible as the future emerges.
It feels like I have fallen in love with life again, and the people I am now connected to are part of a gorgeous fabric of relationships and support that will lift me for years to come.
- Whose energy do you need in your life that you haven’t even met yet?
- Which relationships will you invest in to lift the amount of love given and received?
- How will you show how much you care and love yourself? What investment could you make?
Arohanui,
Christopher
